Seedling Crops at Daylily Lay
I number seedlings using a compound number, yy-xxx, where yy is the last two digits of the year in which I flagged the seedling and xxx is a sequential number starting with 1. Although I may flag as many as 150 seedlings in a crop of 1,800, I don't have the space to save more than 50, and even that is a stretch. I'm trying to be more discriminating with the save flags!
Each year during bloom season, I photograph new selections as well as some of the previous ones and post the best picture of each on my Flickr.com photo site, user boumanm. The links below will take you to specific collections of images. I use Flickr because it's so easy to annotate each picture and to delete images when I de-select a seedling, leaving only the active ones in each class.
